NC160 trains new MO/MS crew

10/11/2015––The Cunningham Composite Squadron, NC160, MCAS Cherry Point, NC, held an Emergency Services Aircrew Ground School from Saturday to Sunday, October 10th through the 11th. with six members participating.  Various subject matters from the Mission Scanner, Mission Observer, and Mission Pilot Specialty Qualification Training Record (SQTR) were covered, ranging from ground safety to CAP search patterns.

Sr. Instructor, 2dLt Ferguson Dale, noted: “It has been a privilege to instruct my fellow Senior Members in how to serve as an aircrew member during search and rescue missions. I feel that the Squadron is growing and it’s nice to have experienced Senior Members guide us new guys through the process.”  During the instruction, Cunningham members welcomed a new member to their Squadron, SM Isaac Beard.  Like many of the new squadron members of Cunningham, he is an active duty Marine stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

Cunningham Composite Squadron has almost doubled in size since February 2015, increasing its Cadets from five to nine and gaining four new Senior Members. The Cunningham Composite Squadron plans to continue both ES ground and aircrew training in an effort to contribute to potential future missions.
