7/9/2015––Civil Air Patrol North Carolina Wing’s Apex Cadet Squadron held a change of command ceremony on July 9, 2015.  The evening was presided over by Capt Michael Willis and attended by many supportive family and friends.  C/Capt James Barrow accepted command from C/1st Lt. Jack Torborg.

C/Capt James Barrow has supported Apex Cadet Squadron previously as a Cadet Commander. C/Capt Barrow gave a speech including his desires to see lots of promotions for cadets and participation for events outside of regular meetings. There are many opportunities for cadets within Apex Squadron and he is hoping to encourage the cadets to take advantage of as many as they can during his time as Cadet Commander.

Outgoing Cadet Commander C/1st Lt Jack Torborg is heading off to college at Clemson University in just a few weeks and so he bid farewell to Apex Cadet Squadron after the meeting and ceremony. Capt Willis presented C/1st Lt Torborg with the Civil Air Patrol achievement award for his outstanding service by serving as Cadet Deputy Commander and Cadet Commander at Apex Cadet Squadron.

Apex Cadet Squadron also recognized the Cadet of the Quarter C/SrA Nicole Pendergraft. C/SrA Pendergraft was recognized for her outstanding performance and dedication to Civil Air Patrol core values.
