tour Simulator and Air Museum

3/28/2014––Several cadets and seniors from the Asheville, Shelby, Gastonia, and Charlotte squadrons met  in Charlotte at the US Airways Training Center on Saturday, March 22, to take a tour of the both the Boeing 737 full-motion training simulator and the NC Air Museum, which houses some of the most important pieces of NC aviation history.

Those in attendance took a turn on the Boeing 737-300 simulator used to train the pilots who fly for US Airways. Afterward, the group  toured  the NC Air Museum,  located at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, which contains numerous aircraft such as a fully restored Douglas DC-3, an F-14 Tomcat, and the actual Airbus A320 made famous when Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger landed it on the Hudson River in January of 2009.
